Overview
For this personal project, I designed a landing page for Bksie, a concept app that combines personalized, matched book recommendations with a social platform where book lovers connect through book club communities. This project allowed me to refine my UX writing and visual design skills by focusing on creating an action-driven experience.
Task
Design a landing page that grabs attention, clearly communicates the app's purpose, and encourages users to download Bksie.
Strategy & Goals
The landing page was built around four key principles:
Brand Tone: The tone is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, reflecting Bksie’s personality and building trust with users.
Community: Highlighting shared interests and the app’s book club connections fosters a sense of belonging.
Clarity: Messaging is clear and concise, effectively communicating Bksie’s purpose and value.
Show, not just tell: Visuals such as screenshots and key app features offer a glimpse of the interface to capture users' attention and encourage them to explore further by downloading the app.
UX Writing Approach
The landing page copy emphasizes Bksie’s core features:
Book-matchmaking: Helping users find their next great read effortlessly through user personalization.
Community connections: Encouraging book lovers to join like-minded groups and book clubs with common interests, reading, and more.
The tone is inviting, with direct language guiding users to explore what Bksie offers. The headlines and CTAs such as “Dive into a new word and book club” and “Start reading your perfect match…” are meant to draw curiosity about the app for potential users and drive downloads.
Final Design
The landing page design reflects Bksie’s brand identity through:
A bright, welcoming color palette that complements the app’s friendly tone.
Consistency in messaging and visuals, with screenshots of the app interface providing a tangible look at its features.
Intuitive layout, leading users seamlessly from understanding Bksie’s value to taking action (e.g., downloading the app).
